iCan Bike uses adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and trained staff to empower kids and adults with disabilities to ride a conventional two-wheeled bicycle.

iCanBike in Knox County

Knox DD is excited to be partnering with iCan Shine, Kenyon Athletics, and Get Healthy Knox County to bring this amazing program to Knox County.

Registration Opens: March 1

Dates: July 7-11

Sessions: There are 5 session options

Cost: A $50 deposit that is refunded at the end of the iCan Bike week.

Rider Requirements

The requirements listed below are set by iCan Shine.

  • 8 years of age or older

  • Minimum pants inseam of 20 inches

  • Maximum weight of 220 pounds

  • Have a disability

  • Able to sidestep both sides

  • Able to walk without assistive device

  • Willing and able to wear a fitted bike helmet

  • Able to attend camp all 5 days

  • Accompanied by a parent/guardian for all 5 days

 

 

Volunteers

iCan Bike is looking for volunteers to help throughout the camp week. Be a “spotter” for the same rider for each of the 5 days and experience the thrill of giving the gift of riding a bike! Just 75 invigorating minutes per day… it just may be the most rewarding experience you’ve ever had!

Volunteer Requirements:

  • 15 years of age or older

  • Able to attend the same session for 5 days of camp

  • Able and willing to jog/run for 75 minutes with small breaks
